Good Basic Watch September 24, 2008 It is a good basic watch. It is easy to read and has a backlight. The first one sent to me had a dead battery, but they sent a new one quickly.
Do not buy Omron products September 23, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I just purchased an Omron heart monitor HR 100C. It arrived, completely dead. I called Omron and they said too bad, "we don't sell directly, so we are not responsible." They also said, this is not advertised, that the battery in the watch is for trial purposes only!!! Then you have to take it to a jeweler to have the watch battery replaced or you'll void the warranty. OMRON DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS, THEY HIDE BEHIND THE FACT THAT OTHER RETAILERS SELL THEM. Do not buy from Omron if customer service matters to you at all.
Works with commercial Cardio Equipment September 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this product so that I could workout (cardio) without having to hold the heart rate sensors. It works like a charm. Fits well and provides accurate reading. I verified it by using the sensors on the equipment and the heart rate readings are identical. I typically wear only the chest strap and leave the watch behind. Bottom line: Works as advertised and compatible with most cardio equipments
Start with this one! September 16, 2008 I read a lot of reviews and saw a lot of bells & whistles on monitors - strong reviews led me to go with this one as a very good, cheap option. I'm glad I bought it and am buying another one as a gift.
It seems like any HR capable machine I use in the gym can pick up the signal from the chest strap so I don't need to look at the watch all the time - an unexpected bonus! Occasionally I see different readings between the watch display and the machine display and can't tell if it's a difference in how often they sample the readings or interference from other people with monitors. Not sure that issue is specific to this monitor.
I was tempted to buy one with data download, etc. but realized that it was too expensive and I really needed to spend more time in the gym instead of in front of ba computer.
Decent low-budget heart rate monitor September 15, 2008 I purchased this for my mom because she needed a low-budget monitor for her work-outs. At first the heart-rate was a little sporadic (kept jumping from 65-200), but it worked itself out after a few minutes & has worked well ever since. If you're looking for a low-budget heart-rate monitor without many bells & whistles, this is the monitor for you. I would also recommend the "Oregon Scientific SE102 LS Heart Rate Monitor", around the same price, reliable, and has a nifty touch-screen.
