 Beautiful but delicate September 4, 2008
Hi. I just received this necklace. I held the stone up to the light and it is a beautiful blue, although you won't see that when you're wearing it. It could pass for black easily. The chain is extremely delicate and the clasp is not easy for people with long nails or bad eyes. I do however like it. It's very small but elegant.

This the first time I purchased jewelry over the Internet and I found it a bit disappointing.
With any jewelry, the one thing I feel you must do is hold the item in your hand. This has been my rule and against my better judgment I broke it. What is difficult to see in a picture becomes very evident in person.
The picture here is of a nice blue stone with good (but not great transparency). In the case of the item I received, the stone was so dark as to be actually black in color. I held the stone up to the light and essentially no light passes through it. This, of course, makes the stone look to be more like a onyx than the deep blue I would have expected.
Without question, and without hesitation, the instant I opened the package (which happens to be a gift for my wife) I knew that I was going to return it.
After talking with several local jewelers I was told that very dark stones, such as the one I received, are generally considered the least desirable and poorest quality.
All, I can say, is that if you choose to purchase this be aware that the deep sapphire blue color most people are looking for comes with a price.
I will give the company credit for shipping quickly and issuing my refund very timely.

Wow, I'm so shocked to read that last review. This is the 2nd sapphire pendant & matching earrings that I've bought from this vendor. The first set I bought & love was for myself. I was so happy with the quality, and after looking in alot of jewelry stores I know that I definitely got a good deal. This pendant, I purchased for my sister's birthday. It is so beautiful. These are real sapphires, so they are all different. The sapphires that I got from this vendor look great. It actually looks just like the picture, dark blue but definitely not black. The diamonds are great. It came with a free chain & I was very pleased with the presentation. It shipped super fast. I will definitely buy from this vendor again. High quality and great customer service.

This is a very elegant pendant. I bought this for myself, along with a gorgeous pair of matching earrings as an early holiday present, and I am thrilled. The color is great, a rich looking deep blue color, with white diamonds. The earrings match the pendant perfectly, and I feel like a celebrity at the Oscars wearing this set. Classic elegance!!! I work hard all year, and I am glad that I stopped to pamper myself with this great gift. The pendant did come with a really nice free chain as stated. The presentation was extra special. It came looking like it was a gift, even though I didn't say that it was one when I placed the order. A blue box with a white ribbon bow was put into a blue velvet pouch. I love these sapphires!!!

This was my first purchase of Jewelry online and I am really happy with it. I did some research, and compared ratings for all the available online vendors that sold sapphire jewelry. I decided to get a set of drop sapphire earrings and pendant from finejewelers, since all their online reviews were outstanding.They did not disappoint me. I always wanted a classic drop sapphire pendant like this one, and never could afford it before. I've seen a smaller sapphire pendant similar to this one at my local jeweler $500, and that was at a 50% off sale after the holiday season! The size of my sapphire is really impressive, and the quality of both sapphire and diamonds is really outstanding. The setting is clean, classy and timeless, and the presentation with the wood jewelry box and velvet pouch, was really elegant. I ordered the matching earrings and those too exceeded all my expectations! I wear my sapphire pendant and matching earrings all the time, and get lots of compliments on them. You have a customer for life, thank you!
